About Jeff Ramsey: Jeff has been studying martial arts for the past 38 years. He holds a 7th degree black belt in Jujitsu, a 6th degree black belt in Arnis, and a 3rd degree black belt in Karate. He is the United States representative for the Dagooc Arnis System (DAS) from the Philippines under Grandmaster Rodel Dagooc. He has been teaching self-defense programs at Lockhaven University for the past 20 years. He currently owns and operates the Susquehanna Valley Academy of Martial Arts.
Jujitsu (Adult & Youth)
Jiu-Jitsu consists of strikes, kicks, throws/takedowns, joint locks, and grappling techniques designed to build strong self-defense skills. Jiu-Jitsu strives to develop united mind, body, and spirit.
-Adult Jujitsu: Sunday 3:30-5 PM
-Adult Jujitsu: Wednesday 7-8:30 PM
-Adult Beginners ONLY: Friday 7-8:30 PM
-Women’s Jujitsu: Tuesday 7-8:30 PM
Filipino Martial Arts of Arnis
Eskrima, Arnis, and Kali are umbrella terms for the traditional martial arts of the Philippines (“Filipino Martial Arts,” or FMA) that emphasize weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives and other bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons. It also includes hand-to-hand combat, joint locks, grappling, and weapon disarming techniques.
-Filipino Martial Arts of Arnis: Monday 7-8:30 PM
Self defense, grappling, striking, submissions, escapes, techniques, self-discipline, perseverance.
-Women’s Jujitsu: Tuesday 7-8:30 PM
