2020 BVRA Parent's Night Off events will be on a brief hiatus until after our Annual Gala on February 8, 2020. Thank you!
Or should we say Kids Night In?!
We understand every parent might need a break every now and then. Drop your child(ren) off at the warming house and we guarantee your kid(s) will have an amazing time! We're sure you'll enjoy your quiet time, but that's up to you. All staff are trained and background checked by BVRA. Our current staff are all teachers with our Nature School or Nature's Cool Camp. Kids will enjoy outdoor time in our Certified Nature Classroom. The space offers open play of all types, and the kids never get bored. After everyone is good and tired, we'll head inside for pizza, popcorn, and a kid friendly movie. In the winter the space features a cozy fireplace. In case of rainy weather our staff will plan indoor games.
Children ages 3-10 who are POTTY TRAINED may attend this program. If you have a younger child who is potty trained and would enjoy this program, call the office to register at 570-524-4774.
We recommend that all children bring a change of clothes, small pillow, small blanket, and a personal snack if popcorn isn't his/her preferred movie-time munchie.
About our Staff:
Parent's Night Out events are staffed by a rotation of our childcare professionals. To find out the specific instructor for any Parent's Night Out event, simply call the office at 570-524-4774.
Olivia Agosti is our current Early Education Coordinator and AmeriCorps member. Olivia served with our summer camp during the 2019 summer, and is planning to return to school next year for her master's degree in education.
Rachael Murphy is our current Program Coordinator and AmeriCorps member. She joins us after working as an Events Coordinator at Penn State. Rachael is the director of our L.E.A.R.N after-school program, and has also served two summers with our BVRA summer camp.
Atokora Appiah-Padi is a Junior at Bucknell. He is currently majoring in African Studies but we are all encouraging him to switch to education, as his passion for working with kids is evident. He is a favorite at our summer camp, due largely to his ability to get everyone involved in a wide variety of games.
Marah Biddle is the Recreation director at BVRA and directs the Nature After Noon program, and the LEARN Downtown Program.
Sarah Biddle is the BVRA Program Director and coordinates a variety of fun kids programming. Both Sarah and Marah graduated from Lockhaven with a degree in sports administration.
