Learning To Lead After School Program

Would you like to help your middle school child gain skills in self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness, communication, problem solving and leadership? See how BVRA and the Heiter Center are working together to help!

Our Promise

We are working to enrich our community by providing after school programming. Through the BVRA & Heiter Center collaboration we are hoping to create a fun, safe, and educational experience for youth after school. We hope to help the youth build their own community of friends through this social program.

Our Promise

We will design a fun, active, and challenging low ropes curriculum to develop leadership skills. We will use the middle school low ropes course to help the youth enhance their skills as they prepare to work together as a team. They will practice those skills as a team through the community engagement portion of the experience.

Our Promise

Our curriculum will consist of speaker and activities to familiarize youth local civic offices and their duties. We hope to inspire the youth to work as a team to learn about how they can create an impact on their community that motivates them to give back to their neighbors.

Our Promise

This program is 9-weeks in length from March 17-May 12, 2020 in the middles school from 2:45-5 pm.  We will provide a snack for the children.  The cost is $200 a child.  We must have 10 enroll for the program to run.  There is support if needed.  Please make sure children dress warm (hats/gloves/footwear) and bring a water bottle, we will be outside and active for a portion of the experience as weather allows.
