It’s been a fantastic fall! So many exciting things have happened for BVRA over the last few months. We’ve offered a wide variety of well-attended programming. Thank you to everyone who participated in Bison Field Hockey, Slime Time, Cupcake Wars, Nature School, Nature Club, Martial Arts, Pinterest Nights, Aquacise, Swim Lessons, and the many other programs too numerous to list here.
The fall was also filled with events. Thanks to our amazing sponsors Ard’s Farm, and Shiva Technology we were able to host a Spooktacular event and the Frosty Frenzy. Both of these holiday carnivals were open to the community at a very low cost. We saw over 250 community members attend each event. In addition, the our 8th Annual Flat ‘N Fast on the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail had a great turnout. Even 22 degree weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of our runners. With our new sponsor, The Miller Center for Recreation and Wellness, runners were able to enjoy a cozy indoor check-in and awards ceremony.
At the end of November 2017, the BVRA Gymnastics Gym moved from our location on West Market, to our new home in the Former Lewisburg High School. The space features better parking, heating and A/C, a multipurpose room, and soon….. a foam pit. The gym will be the 2018 recipient of the capital campaign. During 2018 we will be working to raise $25,000 to fill our pit with foam. Many people have asked. “Could foam possibly cost that much?” Alas, our lowest bid to outfit the pit with foam and a trampoline bottom is just over $26,000.
As 2017 draws to a close we are gearing up for an amazing 2018! We are opening a new after-school program, expanding gymnastics and martial arts, and launching a new preschool program called Nature After Noon.
To give our staff a much needed break BVRA Offices and the BVRA Gym will both be closed Monday, December 25th through Monday, January 1, 2018. We will re-open at 9am on Tuesday, January 2nd.
