BVRA Summer Day Camp

Registration for Summer 2018 will open at 9am on March 1, 2018

Explore,,, Discover... Play... Experience... Summer!

At BVRA we strive to offer a unique summer camp experience that your child will love.  This summer we are bringing back all our campers favorite activities like fantastic field trips, swimming at the community pool, biking on the rail trail, gymnastics, and enriching art and science programs.

NEW THIS SUMMER the BVRA Makerspace:  This summer we are introducing an outdoor experience play space.  This makerspace will allow children to build their own city using cardboard, scrap wood, tarps, and other repurposed materials.   Campers will be supervised by our staff and provided with safety equipment.  Tools will be used under the supervision of our counselors and staff.  Over the summer we will have guest presentations by local builders, plumbers, and electricians.  This new space is based on maker-spaces like Ithaca's “Anarchy Zone” and is rooted in Playscience.  The study of play as it influences learning.

Play is the primary focus of our unique program.  We strive to make sure that every camper is excited to arrive in the morning, and leaves camp happy and exhausted at the end of the day.  Our program discourages screen time, and focuses on development of imagination, cooperation, and confidence through outdoor activities.  For this reason electronic devices are not allowed at camp.

Summer Day Camp is open to campers ages 5-10 years of age who have completed Kindergarten.

Summer Camp Location

BVRA Summer Day Camp is based out of the Warming House, located at 205 Saint Lawrence Street. This prime location gives campers access to the Lewisburg Recreation park, Skate Park, the Lewisburg Community Pool, the Rail Trail, and the Children's Play Garden. This cozy bungalow is where we start and end the day. Throughout the day, campers are on the go in our community.

Field Trips, Tours & Daily Trips

At BVRA Summer camp our campers are always on the go. This summer campers will enjoy afternoons at the Lewisburg Community Garden, Bowling, Swimming twice/week, and movies on the big screen at the Campus Theatre. Campers should be prepared to walk up to 1 mile to reach one of our destinations.

In addition, each week campers will board the bus for a fun filled day of adventure. On field trip days the bus will depart from the warming house at 9am and return at 5pm.  The following is a list of confirmed field trips for 2018:
